~ The Tree Top Walk ~

I've been looking forward to Saturday for the entire week! Had a very meaningful and wonderfully planned schedule- went back to Hong Lim to savour my favourite hawker food and checked out the Tree Top Walk at MacRitchie! I've been longing to do these 2 things for a really long time.

Lunching at Hong Lim market really brings back fond memories of the times (or rather the lunchtimes?) when I worked at Chan Brothers Travel during school holidays. The food there is soooo yummilicious! It houses the best Ipoh Hor Fun, Curry Chicken Noodle, Sliced Fish Soup, Rojak, Prawn Mee, Bah Chor Mee, Curry Puffs, Fried Kway Teow and Soya Bean Milk with Grass Jelly! It's truly a food paradise! *drools* I used to tell everyone I'll give up anything to buy one of the apartments above the market. Yes, I shall- when my weight is 38kg. And not forgetting my Sakae Sushi Buffet when my weight falls to 40kg. As promised, right Steph? ;p

Off to the TTW after lunch. It was then that I realised I had no idea where the trail started. It was about 10km away from the usual MacRitchie entrance which was way too absurd. I remember my dad telling me to enter from some country club. Gave my dad a call and voila! My angel and I parked the car safely at Singapore Island Country club and started our expedition!

Calling it an expedition is NOT KUA ZHANG okai! Though I already expected a 6-7km walk there and back, the actual trekking through the jungle is not funny at all man. Especially not so for my angel who had to withstand the exhaustion plus the embarrassment of carrying an umbrella to shield me from the sun. He's so angelic, I'm sure he understands my determination in not putting my whitening efforts to a waste. We ended up singing the chorus of "A little Umbrella (in hokkien)" throughout the trail, which took our minds off our tired feet and made the journey seem much shorter.

Squirrel!

Bloody Eyebags

But all the singing did not prove useful when it came to the STAIRS.

HORROR.

We walked DOWN. Thankfully.

Angel: This is a blank. It's a fake bullet!
