~ Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2005 - I made it?? ALIVE!!!~

Gosh. Can you believe this? That's MY NAME on the Standard Chartered Website. I MADE IT!!! ALIIIVE!!!

10 FULL KM. Of non-stop Running.

And we're talking about JANE who crawled for 18min 30sec for her 2.4km run in JC. The race was equivalent to more than FOUR 2.4km runs at one go! I performed an amazing stunt and I'm so so so damn proud of my super accomplishment!!!

OK it was just 10km. Nothing if you compare my accomplishment to those who completed the full 42km run. In fact, that was exactly what Alec meant. He was waiting for me at the finishing line and told me (smirking) that he almost burst out laughing when he saw people waving their hands triumphantly as they approached the finishing line. Ha! As if 10km was really a feat or something.

=( Can I say that I truly felt triumphant when I finished?

And he added that he took less than 30 minutes additional to complete more than twice the distance I covered. He completed last year's Army half marathon in 1 hr 37mins.

Right I think my boyfriend has a bit of an ego problem there. But I still love him, even more in fact cos he was sooo sweet!!! I hate to boast but I've got to do him justice! This guy actually woke up at an obscene hour of 515am, drove me to the Esplanade Bridge, parked at the nearest possible parking lot, walked me to the starting point, strolled (happily) around the city hall area for almost 2 hours, and stood right before me with a huge heart-melting warm smile spread across his face the minute I exited the medal queue after I completed the race. Not a tinge of restlessness, impatience or annoyance at all. He just smiled gleefully and told me he was now very familiar with all the underpasses in the area. I almost cried. Seriously. I must have been a benevolent merchant in my previous life.

Talking about ego problem, I think LL suffers from that too. The first thing he did when he saw me after the race was to ask for my timing. Apparantly I took 5 more minutes to complete the race but I did better than him in terms of placing in Gender and Division okai! Ha! LL, does that mean I don't have to eat your shorts afterall? Er.. pl... Please???

Anyway, my timing was an impressive (based on my standards) 1 hr 14 mins (the chip time is the accurate one! everyone was stuck behind when the gun fired).

Oh and the placing. I actually did better than 50%, 37% and 34% okai cos those percentages are based on the totally inaccurate gun time! I'm only doing this ONCE. Gosh how can they do this to me.

The TRUE Placing Figures

3324/(3400+3446)*100% = 48.6% (instead of 50%!)

1064/(1149+1972)*100% = 34% (instead of 37%!)

808/(870+1655)*100% = 32% (instead of 35%!)
